Obituary of Carol Lavonne Nickason

Carol Lavonne Nickason, 63-year-old resident of Corning, AR, departed this life Monday, June 19, 2023, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born January 10, 1960, in Doniphan, MO, to James (Jack) and Panzy June (Wilson) West.

Carol was a certified nursing assistant. Her caring and compassionate nature endeared her to all, especially the patients with whom she worked and her family. Carol had an unbreakable bond with her sisters and was devoted to her children and grandchildren. Carol loved growing flowers and spending time in nature and with her animals.

Surviving are her daughters, Kimberly Lane (Mike) of Walnut Ridge, AR and Patricia Stafford (David) of Pocahontas, AR; sisters, Doris Harp (Danny) of Advance, Mo, Kathy West Gerena (Ramon) of Pensacola, FL, and Pam Bailey of Advance, MO; grandchildren, Sam, Austin, Chelsie, Colton, David, Mitchel, Katie, Levi, Christopher, and Tiffany; and life partner, Roy Burke of Corning.  14 nieces and nephews and several great-grandchildren.          

 Carol was preceded in death by a son, Calvin West; two sisters, Cheryl Neldon and Porshia Kay West; her parents James (Jack) West & Panzy (Wilson) West-Gambill & Charles (Boots) Gambill and a granddaughter, Haley. 

The family will have a private memorial at a later date.
