Obituary of Marion Bowman

Marion Bowman, 79, departed this life Sunday, June 18, 2023. He was born April 5, 1944, in Ripley County, MO, to Nona and Laura Rose (Davidson) Bowman.

Marion was a cattle farmer and a conservationist who loved the outdoors. He enjoyed gardening and building things around the farm. He also found pleasure in tending his beehives. Marion had retired from the United States Navy. Marion’s witty personality would shine through in every situation, bringing a smile to anyone engaged in the conversation. It was a challenge to top his sense of humor.

Surviving is his daughter, Monique Rivera of Newport Richie, FL; granddaughters, Emilee Rivera and Tarsis Ramos; nieces, Angela Reed, Susan Skaggs, and Brenda Shackelford; and nephew, Bari Chase.

Marion was preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Chase, and brother, Charles Bowman.

Visitation will be held at Bethlehem Baptist Church on Friday, June 23, 2023, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with a graveside service to follow at noon at Towles Cemetery.
