Obituary of Doris Illeen Emmons

Doris Ileen Emmons, 90 year old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Friday, December 8, 2017 in Doniphan.  Mrs. Emmons was born October 15, 1927, in Ripley County, MO to the late Phillip and Neacie Reeves Davis.

 

Doris had worked at Southern Bank for over 30 years;  was a lifelong member of the Belleview Baptist Church; a Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Post 3485; and also a Democratic Committee Woman for the Jordan Township.

 

On September 21, 1946, in Pocahontas, AR she was married to J.W. Emmons, Jr., who preceded her in death in 2008.  Also preceding her in death was her parents, sisters Lois O’Neill and Mary Sue Ezell; brother William (Bill) Davis; and grandson Brad Emmons.

 

Surviving is one son Dennis (Phyllis) Emmons of Doniphan, MO; one daughter, Debbie (Jerry) Cole of Doniphan, MO; one grandson, Dennis Emmons, Jr; and one sister Phyllis Hartrup of Doniphan, MO

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Emmons will be Monday, December 11, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Hubert Payne officiating. Visiting will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday.  Burial will follow in the Belleview Cemetery.
