Jackie Wayne Jones, 64, of Doniphan, Missouri, departed this life Sunday, February 12, 2017, at his residence in rural Doniphan.
Mr. Jones, son of Jack and Wanda (Griffin) Jones, was born June 15, 1952, in Pocahontas, Arkansas. He had worked in the maintenance department of factories. Mr. Jones loved hunting and playing drums and he was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and served during the Vietnam War.
On July 18, 1970, he was married to Brenda Sue Smith in West Doniphan, Missouri, and she survives.
Also surviving are 2 sons: Christopher (and Samantha) Jones of Malden, Missouri, and Robert Jones of Doniphan; 1 sister, Mary Stokes of Shiloh, Illinois; 2 brothers, Dennis Jones of Columbia, Missouri, and Jim Jones of Doniphan; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are other relatives and many friends.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, Sue Murphy, and 1 granddaughter, Kaleigh Jones.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning, February 16, 2017, at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Eugene Griffin officiating. Burial will be in the Sycamore Cemetery in Pyle Town, Missouri.
