Henry W. C. Tettleton, 81, of Doniphan, Missouri, departed this life Thursday, September 22, 2016, at St. Bernard’s Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Mr. Tettleton, son of Johnie and Fern (Dodd) Tettleton, was born February 16, 1935, in Pocahontas, Arkansas. He had been a cattle farmer. Henry enjoyed the river, raising livestock and riding four-wheelers but he especially loved being with his family. He was a member of the American Legion. On April 17, 1959, Henry was married to Bertha Mae Kirkpatrick in Doniphan and she preceded him in death on February 8, 1999. Later, on May 21, 2011, he married Lavena Hitt and she died on October 16, 2012. Surviving are 2 granddaughters, Summer and Jessica; 2 step-daughters, Patsy Stuhlman of Cabool, Missouri, and Linda Babiak of Springfield, Illinois; 3 sisters, Glenda Joplin of Naylor, Missouri, Kaye Hudson of Hillsboro, Missouri, and Gayla Ballard of Searcy, Arkansas; a son-in-law, Chuck Aldrich of Doniphan; 5 step-grandchildren, Mike, Rachael, Michelle, Jennifer and Tyler; and many great-grandchildren. Henry was also preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Carolyn Aldrich; a step-son, Kenneth Manning; 1 sister, Betty Davis; and 2 brothers, Gene Tettleton and Dwight Tettleton. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning, September 24, 2016, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at the Amity Cemetery.
