Jerry Ray Orick, 81-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. He was born January 20, 1945, in Campbell, Missouri, to the late Henry Harrison and Mary Annie (Pendleton) Orick.
Jerry lived a life of strength, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He was always supportive of his family and their endeavors, never hesitating to let them know they were dearly loved and valued, and that he was proud of them. His kindness and generosity extended beyond his family to friends, neighbors, and those in need. If he could lend a helping hand, he willingly did so. Jerry enjoyed spending the day fishing, relaxing and enjoying the stillness of the water. A man of faith, Jerry attended Fairview General Baptist Church.
Jerry was married to Linda Orick. She survives. Also surviving are his daughters, Nancy Sullivan (Nolan Sullivan) of Doniphan, Julie Howard of Grandin, Wendy Raney and Sheila Orick of Poplar Bluff, and Dena Hinton and Rachel Adams of Doniphan; two sisters, Wanda Beasley and Helen Reese; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Jerry was preceded in death by eight of his brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Brother Curtis Crowley will be officiating, and burial will be in the Bernie Memorial Cemetery in Bernie, MO.
