Peggy Joyce Hollomon Tatum, 85, departed this life at 2:40 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, at her home in Doniphan, MO. Peggy was born in Hayti, MO, on April 16, 1940, to the late Joseph Edwin and Eunice Dean (Broyles) Hollomon. She graduated Doniphan High School in 1958 and married her high school sweetheart, Charles Tatum, on October 28, 1958. On August 26, 1960, her daughter, Cynthia Denise “Cindy” was born. Peggy worked at Ozark Border Electric Cooperative where she served the Doniphan community for 31years before taking an early retirement in 1997 due to lupus.
Peggy’s favorite time was that spent on their numerous vacations in Colorado. She enjoyed embroidery and making quilts for her family. Peggy was well-known for her cheesecakes made with a special ingredient, “love”. She enjoyed her grandkids and great-grandchildren immensely.
Surviving is her husband of 67 years, Charles, and her daughter, Cindy Braschler (Phil) of Doniphan. Also surviving are grandchildren, Shane O’Neal (Amy) of Manes, MO and Kelli Sisco (Jason Brodrick) of Gatewood, MO, and great-grandsons, Layne O’Neal and Liam Henderson. She also leaves behind a sister, Sharon Price (David) of Doniphan, Niece Leigh White (Chris) of Doniphan, and nephew Brad Jordan (Leigh) of Coldwater, MS.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Dean Holloman; her in-laws, Guy and Wilma Tatum; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Jimmy Walker, and grandson-in-law, BJ Sisco.
A graveside service will be held in the Doniphan City Cemetery on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Memorial may be made in Peggy’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
