Weston Cole Whisnant Obituary

Weston Cole Whisnant Weston Cole Whisnant, age 12, laid down his rifle and picked up his crown on January 23, 2026. While his time on earth was far too short, his family rests in the unshakable hope of the resurrection and the promise that death is not the end for those who belong to Christ.

Weston loved Jesus and trusted Him fully. He knew that his life and his future were secure in Christ, and his family finds peace in knowing that Weston is whole, healed, and alive in the presence of his Savior. Because of Jesus’ resurrection, Weston’s story continues, and his family holds tightly to the promise that they will see him again.

Weston was an avid hunter and true outdoorsman. He hunted all over the United States, yet nothing compared to being in the woods in his own backyard. Hunting was a legacy passed down through the Whisnant family, and Weston carried it with pride, skill, and deep respect for the land.

He was also fiercely passionate about football and proudly played for the Poplar Bluff Elite football team. Weston played with heart, toughness, and loyalty, living out his team’s motto every day, “Who’s got your back? I got your back.” That phrase reflected who Weston was, not just on the field, but in life.

In his final act of generosity, Weston became an organ donor, giving the gift of life to others. Even in death, he continued to serve and love others, leaving behind a legacy of selflessness that reflects the heart of Christ.

Weston is survived by his parents, Cody and Madison Whisnant, and his sister, Alivia Whisnant. He is also deeply loved by his maternal grandmother, Missy Hawkins; his paternal grandmother, Patti Whisnant; and his great-grandfather, Bill Hawkins. He was cherished by his aunt and uncle, Peter and Kelley Whisnant, and his cousins Abby, Parker, Adeline, and Mark, and his uncles, Jake Hawkins and Logan Whisnant.

He was preceded in death by his beloved Yaya, Mark Whisnant; Pawpaw, Dana Hawkins; and Uncle Jack Whisnant.

Visitation will be held at Edward’s Funeral Home on February 13, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a celebration of Weston’s life at 7:00 p.m. A private graveside service will follow for family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Outfitters4Hope (www.outfitters4hope.org), a charity that provides hunting experiences for children with illnesses and children of fallen heroes.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.” Psalm 23:1–3

In honor of Weston’s life and the faith he loved, the family invites all who read this to consider the hope found only in Jesus Christ. Because of Him, death is defeated, love endures, and reunion is promised.
