Edward Ray Warner, Sr., affectionately known as Ed, an 85-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Tuesday, December 16, 2025. He was born February 7, 1940, in Moose Lake, MN, to the late Ray and Lillian (Schubert) Warner.
Ed proudly served his country in the United States Navy as an aircraft mechanic. Following his retirement from the military, he carried with him a deep sense of pride in his service and a lifelong respect for those who serve. His dedication to his country and fellow citizens remained an important part of who he was. Known for his outgoing and friendly personality, Ed was a familiar face around Doniphan. He never met a stranger and enjoyed visiting with everyone he met. He had a deep appreciation for the beauty of our area, especially Current River and enjoyed spending time boating and fishing. Ed also liked to go hunting, especially during deer season. As a proud and devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Ed treasured time spent with family. He attended West Doniphan Missionary Baptist Church.
On June 27, 1961, Ed married Alice Fern (Roundtree) Warner. She preceded him in death on June 6, 2024. He was also preceded by his sister, Linda McCarty.
Surviving are his children, Patty Warner of Doniphan and Eddie Warner, Jr (Treva). of Ellington, MO; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, December 19, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield. Brother Patrick Bunn will be officiating.
