JoAnn Evans, age 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, surrounded by those who loved her.

JoAnn was born in St. Louis on August 26, 1939, where she attended school and formed many of the friendships she cherished throughout her life. It was there she met and married Johnny Evans and built a family, raising their five children. He preceded her in death in 2015.

JoAnn had a kind spirit and a big heart. She enjoyed gardening, puzzles, her hummingbird feeder, reading the Bible, and was a “Go Getter.”  She was a member of His Place Church. 

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Dorothy (Welker) Foeste; three sons, Jerry, Joe, Sr, and Johnny Evans Jr.; two sisters, Jeannie Rains and Patsy Jean Foeste; and one brother Gary Foestee.

JoAnn is survived by her daughters, Janice Aarns and Julie Emery and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  They all lovingly mourn her passing.

Services will be held at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery where JoAnn will be laid to rest beside her late husband, Johnny Evans. Pastor Dan Craig will be officiating.
