Mrs. Bettie L. Bagwill, age 98, passed away on November 20, 2025, at Oakdale Care Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Bettie was born on July 28, 1927, to H.C. and Odessa (Hood) Pepmiller. On February 19, 1945, she married Lloyd Dewaine Bagwill Sr.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd Dewaine Bagwill Sr.; and her oldest son, Lloyd Dewaine Bagwill Jr.
She is survived by her youngest son, Robert Lance Bagwill of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; ten grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
Bettie was a lifelong resident of Ripley County. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron of her chapter in 1978. She retired in 1992 as Ripley County Director of the Division of Family Services after 44 years of dedicated service. She attended First Church of God in Doniphan, Missouri.
She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, who will fondly remember her wit, humor, and world-class lemon pound cake. Bettie loved to travel, read, and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.
Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.
