Betty Jean Allen, Obituary:

Betty Jean Allen died from a stroke and was received by her savior on November 17, 2025, at the age of 94.  Betty resided in Fenton, MO at the time of death, but lived in Ferguson, MO most of her life.  Betty was born to William Lee Boyles and Ethel Jewel Little in Current View, near Doniphan, MO on July 20, 1931. 

Betty regretted not completing high school because she was required to quit school by 1945 and work at the Leather Factory in Doniphan, MO.  In 1948 in Doniphan, MO Betty married Lawrence Allen who had returned from serving his country during WWII.  Betty and Lawrence moved to St Louis and had two sons, eventually moving to Ferguson, MO where she lived most of her life.  Lawrence passed away in 1968, so Betty reentered the workforce and tried her best to educate herself and hold her family together.  Betty worked in daycare, retail, and in a St Louis law firm.  However, Betty’s real passions were babies, cooking, sewing, and being a mom.  Betty and Lawrence also lovingly cared for their nieces Mary Allen Ryan and Peggy Masters and nephews Roger and James Boyles when their parents were unable.

Sons:  Claude (Jacki) Allen and Richard (Mary) Allen;  Grandchildren: Christopher Allen, Katherine Allen, Zach Allen; Carrie (Paul) Lambert, Richard Allen, Amy Allen, Shasta Allen;  Half-brother: Charles Duane McGonigal;  Half-sister Karen McGonigal Andrews; Numerous cousins and extended family.

Parents:  William Lee Boyles and Ethel Jewel Little; Husband: Lawrence Allen;  Sisters: Ethel Boyles Lawson, Hazel Boyles Whittom;  Brothers: William L Boyles, Lindell Boyles;  Half-brothers:  Chester Wayne McGonigal, Lafe Anderson “Andy” McGonigal, Larry B Boyles, Lee Junior Boyles;  Half-sisters Connie Boyles Carmickle, Joyce Boyles Johnson;  Grandson: Jamie Allen; Great-grandson: Richard Lawrence Allen, Drake Lambert; Great-granddaughter: Lexi Martin.

Funeral services will be held at Edwards Funeral Home, Doniphan, MO, on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will precede the funeral beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.
