James Bell, 59-year-old resident of Blue Springs, MO, departed this life Tuesday, November 4, 2025. He was born December 7, 1965, in Rockford, IL, to the late James D. and Margaret Sue (Marsh) Bell.

After graduating from high school, James proudly enlisted in the military, serving honorably in both the United States Army and Air Force. After completing his tours of duty, James began his career in the telecommunications industry working his way up to management with Sprint Ericsson and General Dynamics. James loved staying active-whether he was traveling, bowling with friends and teammates, or engaging in competition through his favorite game, Starcraft. Above all, James cherished time with his family. His children and grandchildren were always his focus.

In May of 1985, James was married to Kathleen Jeanne Bell who preceded him in death in October 2014. He later married Changhong Bell in Independence, MO on February 14, 2015. She survives. Also surviving is his son, James “Jimmy” Bell of Warrenton, MO; a sister, Paula Marie Wilkerson of Alton; and his grandchildren, James Oliver Bell, Eleanor Kathleen Bell, Jaelynne Robinson, and Emily Warner.

In addition to his parents and first wife, Katheen, James was preceded in death by a sister, Sherry Ann Bell.

Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, November 10, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 10:30. Burial will be in the Bardley Cemetery.
