Mark Ellis “Ty” Copeland, Jr., 34, of Gatewood, MO, departed this life Saturday, October 11, 2025. He was born November 19, 1990, in Rolla, MO, to Mark E. Copeland, Sr., Francine (Nash) Copeland, and Breona Copeland, of Maynard, AR.

Ty was a logger by trade - which was a career he loved and took pride in. A true outdoorsman, he could often be found working on his farms and taking care of his chickens. His favorite pastimes were also outdoor activities which included hunting, fishing, or playing street hockey, seizing every opportunity to be outside and active. Ty lived life to the fullest cherishing every moment spent with his family. He had a special way of connecting with people and making them feel safe and protected. Whether it was a neighbor, a lifelong friend, or someone he had just met, Ty’s outgoing nature left a lasting impression. He truly loved people and being with others and was always available to lend a helping hand or help take care of any problems that arose. On his list of favorite things to do was grilling and throwing a party. He always included the children, making sure they were served and eating before anyone else.

On October 21, 2017, Ty married Sharon (Zitting) Copeland in Maynard, AR. She survives. Also surviving are his parents, and his children, Melissa E’Lane Copeland, My’cole Elm Copeland, Marla Elena Copeland, Mark Ellis Copeland, III, and Jacob Monroe Copeland. He also leaves behind his sibling: his sisters, Jesse (Cody) Bistline of Bonners Ferry, ID, Edna Copeland (Curtis Jessups) Martin of Colorado City, AZ, Victoria (Joseph) Harker of Williston, ND, and Melba, Bobbi, Mabel, Mary, Memory, and Miryam Copeland, all of Maynard, and his brothers, Brenden (Radiance) Copeland, Landon, Milo, Marten, and Monroe Copeland, all also of Maynard.

Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Chapel on Sunday, October 19, 2025, beginning at noon with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Tracey Chesser will be officiating, and burial will be in Ty’s Cemetery in Gatewood.
