Katherine Theresa Burke, 89-year-old resident of Chaffee, MO, departed this life on October 6, 2025, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.  She was born on July 19, 1936, in Kansas City, MO to the late Mary C. Cherrito and Kenneth Merle Dayton.  Katherine worked for years at Katz Drug Company in Kansas City before moving to Doniphan, MO.  She had a passion for cooking, especially baking.

On March 9, 1953, Katherine married Robert Paul Burke in Kansas City, MO.  She is survived by her daughters, Mary Kay Yount of Doniphan and Theresa Marie (Robert) Hinkebein of Chaffee; one brother-in-law, John Stephen (Gayle) Burke of Conroe, TX; grandchildren, Alexa (Corey) Porter, Ethan, (Ashlinne) Yount, and Mary (Michael) Detherage; her great-grandchildren, Caden Abbot, Mariah (Rodney) Butler, Morghan McGhee, Makailee, McGhee, and T.J. McGhee.  Katherine was also blessed with four great-great-grandchildren, Paislee Yount, Amon Yount, Meilani Leon, and Maliza Butler.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burke was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Paul Burke and one son, John Paul Burke. 

A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Doniphan City Cemetery.
