Earl “Eugene” Wilson was born on April 4, 1935, in Bernie, MO, to the late Eathel Losh Wilson and John Oliver Wilson. He went to be with our Lord on Friday, August 29, 2025, at his home in Grandin, MO, at the age of 90 years.
He was united in marriage to Martha Aileen Venable on November 27, 1954, at White Oak Grove General Baptist Church in Bernie, MO; she survives. Also preceding him in death were his parents, Eathel Losh Wilson and John Oliver Wilson; his daughter Verna Dene Wilson; six sisters, Joyce Wilson, Darlene Wilson, Joan Hansen, Doris Jennings, Lois Merritt, and Geraldine “Jerrie” Jarnagin; and one brother, John “JR” Wilson.
Earl “Eugene” was a member of the Logan Creek General Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for over 50 years. He enjoyed his hobbies of turkey and deer hunting, and gardening at his farm in Ripley County.
He leaves his legacy to carry on through: his daughter, Martha Ann Eggers and husband Kent of Poplar Bluff, MO and his son Bryce Eugene Wilson and wife Donna Mae of Grandin, MO; four sisters Mary Lowery of Scott City, MO, Sue Lowe of Sikeston, MO, Diane Sontheimer of Houma, LA, and Vickie Shipman and husband Ronnie of Jackson, MO; sister-in-law, Marsha Wilson of Bernie, MO; three granddaughters, Elizabeth Alice and husband Steven of Dexter, MO, Rebecca Ann of Benton, AR, Chelsea Aileen and husband Matthew of Puxico, MO; and one grandson, Zackery Joseph of Branchville, SC; six great-grandchildren. Along with many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at Logan Creek Church on Friday, September 5, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at noon. Burial will be in the Logan Creek Cemetery.
