Dave William Marlett, 58, of Doniphan, MO, passed away peacefully on Wednesday the 13th of August, 2025 at Current River Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, surrounded by the people who loved and cared for him. Dave was born on July 22nd, 1967, in Kansas City, MO to the William G. Marlett and Vera M. Marlett.

Dave grew up in the Kansas City, MO areas and moved around to various parts of Missouri throughout his lifetime.  He was known for his 30 years commitment to long haul trucking across the country and eventually became a proud owner-operator himself. His life passions included hunting, traveling with his dog, Diego, and a Garth Brooks soundtrack with a good drink of bourbon and was later in life deeply devoted to his family and grandchild. As an avid hunter, Dave was a proud record holder of the Lee Roper Big Bucks Award. This gave him bragging rights in most conversations.

Dave is survived by his four children, Shyann, Austin, Dallas, and Savannah, and his one grandchild, Laynee. He was preceded in death by his father and mother along with his brother, James.

Though you are gone, the love you gave us remains, a beautiful reminder of your presence in our lives.

The family will have a private memorial at a later date.
