REV. DR. LENNIS (“DICK” MURRAY) 

BORN ~ JANUARY 16, 1939

ENTERED INTO REST ~ AUGUST 11, 2025

Rev. Dr. Lennis (Dick) Murray, 86, went to meet his Heavenly Father on August 11, 2025, while in Clinton Hospice, New Baden, Illinois.  He was born in Van Buren, Missouri, the 7th son of 7 sons and the last child of Rev. Claude and Mary Murray.  He married Dewania Ladd in St. Louis on June 6, 1964.

Dick accepted the call to the ministry in 1965 and was Pastor to 8 churches.  He filled in after he turned 80 for 2 more years.  The ministry and his family were his life, and he continued ministering in the form of quoting Bible Scripture or advising when he was in the nursing home.  Many came to his door asking for their “daily dose of scripture”.

He is survived by his beloved wife, “Dee”, children Tanya and Patrick (Beth), grandchildren Melissa (Alex) and Lindsay (Donovan), and great grandchildren Aaron and Clara.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents and all his siblings:  Marizetta, Claude, Bill, James, Robert, and half-siblings Verneal, Aubrey, and Ira.
