Melissa Rochelle Redus Lane
Melissa Lane, 52, passed away Friday, June 27, 2025, at her home in Gatewood, MO. She was born January 2, 1973, at Ripley County Memorial Hospital where she began her nursing career 20 years later. Melissa strove to treat each patient and their families as if they were her own.
Melissa found immense joy in nature. She dedicated much energy into transforming her yard into a sprawling haven begging to be enjoyed by her loved ones. She and Lonnie spent endless hours exploring the outdoors with her children, nieces, and eventually grandchildren.
She married Lonnie Lane on February 14, 1992. Lonnie survives. Other survivors include: one son, Robert and Ember Lane and two grandchildren Thaddeus and Damien, one daughter, Amber and Austin Gast and three grandchildren Oliver, Kaiden, and Avalee, one stepdaughter, Violet Smith and grandchildren Kacey, KaytLynn, and Kallen.
Melissa’s mother, Donna Chase, also survives as well as in-laws Lonnie and Jo Lane. Four siblings also survive: sister, Marla and Billy Hastings with nieces, Devon and Ray Sandhouse and their three children and Samantha and Tracy Donnell and their two children. Brother, Bradley and Mary Redus with nephews Kenny Bister and Justin and Hannah Perrigan. Brother, Jason Redus with children Nova, Chastity, Brandon, Elizabeth, Cristian, and Brianna. Brother Kendall Redus with son Garrett. Cousin Leslie Redus with his five children.
Melissa is survived by any aunts and uncles and too many cousins to mention.
She was proceeded in death by her father, Max Redus, paternal grandparents Bill and Ora Redus, her stepfather Blakely Chase, maternal grandparents Amos and Robbie Hardgrave, one brother-in-law Chris Beck, one double cousin Jeff Redus, and one nephew Elvis Perrigan.
