Derrick J. Bennett, 39 year old resident of Myrtle, MO departed this life Wednesday, April 2, 2025 in St. Louis, MO.  He was born August 5, 1985, in Jonesboro, AR.  Derrick graduated high school at Couch where he still was very active, serving as school board member and a faithful FFA alum.  He was a part of the Mo-Ark Coon club, attended Cotton Creek Free Will Baptist Church, and loved hunting and fishing.  Derrick loved being a dad to his girls.

 

Derrick was preceded in death by his mother, LaRue Bennett; maternal grandparents, James Lee and Rosalee Reed; and paternal grandparents, Rufford and Lorine Bennett.

 

On August 11, 2007, in Myrtle, he was married to Tricia Murdock, who survives.  Also surviving are his 3 daughters, Katherine, Hailey, and Karen Bennett; his father Dean Bennett and his wife Remona; a special uncle, Jarvis Reed; and Dan and Peggy Murdock, Jason Murdock, Tammy (Billy) Raderstorf, Tabatha (Rodney) Honeycutt, Tiffany (Jason) Smith, Traci (Dustin) Evans; several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, other family and many friends.

 

Visitation will be held from 12-2 PM Saturday, April12, 2025 in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM Saturday with Matt Franks officiating.
