I have only known Derrick for close to 5 years, but he made a lasting impression. He served on the Board of Education the 4 years that I served the community of Couch School. He was always willing to jump in and do whatever he could for the school. He was active in Board meetings and a strong advocate for the school. He would let me know if something was not going well or didn't seem right and was willing to be part of the solution. He loved his family and had such a special bond with his girls. Derrick will leave a big hole on the Board and constant presence at the school.
