Obituary of Evelyn J. Davidson

Evelyn Davidson (Casey) was born to James E. Casey and Palmyra L. Casey on May 3, 1931, and departed this life on Friday, February 21, 2025. She married James T. Davidson on November 27, 1948. He was the love of her life until his death on January 26, 2007.

 

James and Evelyn had two children, Lavenda (Henry) High and Gary Davidson; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one step granddaughter.

 

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, James and Palmyra Casey; brother, Harold (Ellen) Casey; sister, Ruthie Mae (Bud) Campbell; sister, Pauline (Connie) Brett; sister, Berniece (John) Davidson; brother, Darrel (Janene) Casey; granddaughter, Laura High; and son, Gary Davidson.

 

Evelyn and her husband served as campground hosts for the National Forests in Missouri and Idaho; nine of those summers were at Markham Springs in Williamsville, Missouri. She was also with a group of ladies who made quilts for the Shriner’s Hospital for 20 years, as well as helping make quilts for Quilts of Valor for wounded servicemen and veterans of other wars.

 

Evelyn enjoyed time with her family and friends. She also loved her painting, sewing, and quilting.

 

Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, February 27, 2025, beginning at 9:30 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 10:30 a.m.. Brother Kent Wilfong will be officiating, and burial will be in Fairdealing Cemetery.
