Briana and rest of family, I am so sorry for your loss!
One memory with Mrs. Sisco I will never forget is getting snowed in at Branson while we were up there for Beta Convention. Looking back as an adult, I could not imagine what was going through her head being stuck up there with 20+ teenagers for extra time no one had planned for, but her and the other sponsors devised a game plan. I never remember them seeming panicked and they made it a fun a very memorable experience for us all.
Another memory is on my graduation day, the Beta Club stoles were being passed out to wear around our necks. There was a rule that if you had missed 2 or more meetings in a row, you were automatically to be kicked out of Beta. For reasons I now can’t remember exactly(I think it was due to my after school job), towards the end of my senior year I had missed more meetings than I should have, and on paper she shouldn’t have given me one. I was so surprised when she found me that evening and handed me one, and so appreciative. It was something she didn’t have to do but such a nice gesture. She was tough and firm as a teacher but also showed she cared about her students by examples such as this.
Doniphan was lucky to have her and she will be missed!
