Billy Clark Kenley, 84, of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the Memphis VA Medical Center in Memphis, TN. Bill was born April 6, 1937 in Holland, MO to the late Sam C. Kenley, Sr. and Cecil Suzanne (Clark) Kenley.
After graduating from Holland, MO Public Schools in May of 1955, Bill entered the armed services on December 29, 1955 serving in the United States Army. Bill was baptized on September 12, 1965 at Central Baptist Church in New Orleans, LA. He also was installed as Officer “Master” of Masonic Lodge Amity Lodge #4 on December 15, 1984 in Silver City, NV where he served in that capacity for two years. He loved horses and raised racehorses while living in Nevada. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Bill was a contractor in the construction industry.
Surviving are his children, Debra Clark, Leighan (Jeff) Fales, Steven (Debbie) Kenley VanAusdall, all of Caruthersville, and Rod (Hannah) Settles of Winter Haven, FL; a brother, Jackie (Shirley) Kenley of Hot Springs, AR; a sister-in-law, Betty Kenley of Doniphan; grandchildren, Heather Tarango, Luke VanAusdall, Kristen Cunninghan, Jamileigh Fales, Bethany House, and Nathan Settles; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by five brothers, Roy Palmer, Alton Kenley, Melvin Kenley, Raymond Kenley, and Samual Kenley, Jr.; two sisters, Thelma Cahoon and Cecil Mae Newman; and one nephew, Ronald Kenley.
A memorial visitation will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2021 in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Monty Flanigan will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his name to Doniphan Public Library to purchase audio equipment and books for the visually impaired.
