Obituary of Mike L. Ryan

Mike L. Ryan, 63-year-old resident of Gatewood, MO, departed this life Saturday, November 20, 2021. He was born October 9, 1958 in Providence, RI to the late Gene E. and Vanna May (Penter) Ryan. Mike had owned and operated his own sawmill. He was also a merchant marine, working offshore, and had worked at a power station in North Platte, NE. Mike loved to be outside hunting, gardening, gigging, going to the river with friends, and fishing with anyone who was available for a fishing trip, especially his buddy, Yogi. Mike had many great friends and dear family. On July 21, 1979, Mike married Sabrena DeVore in Ripley County. She survives. Also surviving is his son, Terell J. (T.J.) Ryan, and partner, Heather Baker, of Gatewood; his brother-in-law, Russell DeVore and partner, Terri; and nephews, Taylor (Sireanne) DeVore and Christopher (Jennifer) DeVore, and Will and Amanda DeVore. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Cindy DeVore; his mother-in-law, Irene DeVore; and his grandmother, Zella Ryan. Visitation will be Saturday, November 27, 2021 in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel beginning at noon with the funeral services to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Doniphan City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be T.J. Ryan, Christopher DeVore, Taylor DeVore, Davy Dean Woodson, and Curtis Tooles.
