James Harold Wood, 81-year-old resident of Gatewood, MO, departed this life Friday, November 19, 2021. He was born September 26, 1940 in Lafe, AR to the late Clifford Dyle and Mildred Moline (Valentine) Wood.
Harold had retired from General Motors where he worked on the Corvette and truck lines. He enjoyed woodworking, writing, and spending time with family and friends. Harold attended New Macedonia Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
On October 20, 1961, Harold married Ava Baker in St. Louis, MO. She survives. Also surviving is his son, Brian Keith (Debby) Wood of Ballwin, MO; his daughter, Lisa Ann (Rick) Hodge of Florissant, MO; six grandchildren, Brandon and Keith Russell, Jessica (Jeff) Parrett, Brittany Hodge, Courtney Russell, and Tyler Wood; and nine great-grandchildren, Jaeda, Addison, Ricky, Cameron, Taelyn, Tyson, Audrey, Ellis, and Hensley.
Visitation will be in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, November 21, 2021 beginning at 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Brother Jared Baker will be officiating. Burial will be in Johnston Chapel Cemetery.
