Obituary of Arlyn Williams

Please share a memory of Arlyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Margaret Arlyn Williams, 85, departed this life Monday, October 4, 2021. She was born February 23, 1936 to the late Daniel Addison and Dollie Mae (Gordon) Allen. Arlyn was known to her family as the ‘World’s Best Cookie Maker”, and they feel that she was very likely the world’s best cook. Doniphan R-I School students appreciated her cooking skills because she worked in the school as a cook for 38 years. Family was her focus, spending time together and making memories, such as camping in the front yard with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a sweet person, always thinking of others. Arlyn loved to sew. She made countless Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls and sock monkeys. She gave away to any youngster she met. Arlyn was never late for church. Even though she lived close by, she made it a point to arrive early. On November 8, 1952, Arlyn married Brooks Williams. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2007. She was also preceded in death by a great-great-grandson, Liam Woodworth and her siblings, Viola, Beatrice, Walter, Georgia, Richard, Mary Faye, Pete, and Thelma. Surviving are her children, Gary (Donna) Williams of Mountain Home, AR, Kathy Elder of Doniphan, and Tammy (Kent) Smith also of Doniphan; six grandchildren, Kelli (Doug) Hall, Dustin Wooldridge, Cameron Smith, Autumn (Matthew) Moore, Ryanne (Dustan) Foret, and Jonathan Williams; great-grandchildren, Brittany (Terry) Woodworth, Trystan (Darcie) Hall, Eden Moore, Mary Brooke Moore, Madden Wooldridge Braxton Wooldridge, and Easton Foret; and great-great-grandchildren, Lane Woodworth and Raelyn Woodworth. Also surviving are her siblings, Jessie, Dessie, and Elsie. Visitation will be at Edwards Funeral Home on Saturday, October 9, 2021 beginning at 9:00 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 10:30 a.m. with Minister Gary Buxton officiating. Burial will be in Pope Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dustin Wooldridge, Cameron Smith, Jonathan Williams, Trystan Hall, Terry Woodworth, and Mark Williams. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Doug Hall, Kent Smith, Madden Wooldridge, Matthew Moore, Dustan Foret, Easton Foret, Lane Woodworth, and Braxton Wooldridge. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Paragould Children’s Home.
