Ross Allan Simpson, age 55, of Doniphan, MO, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Ross was born on February 14, 1966 in St. Louis, MO to the late Bobby Joe and Willa Jean (Blackwell) Simpson. He worked maintenance at Royal Oak Enterprises. Ross also farmed. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, grilling, being with his family, and especially making pancakes for his children. He never met a stranger. On June 26, 2011, Ross married Jackie (Payne) Simpson. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Destiny, David, Dustin, and Darbie Simpson of the home, Melinda (Bo) Dasch of Oxly, MO, Chrissy (Derek) Smith of Doniphan, Brandy Fox of Dexter, MO, Laura Story of Doniphan, Brian Harris, Greg (Amber) Harris of Doniphan, Jeff (Natalya) Harris of Fairdealing, MO; 13 grandchildren; brothers, Eric (Lynn) Derickson of Neelyville, MO, Hugh (Brenda) Derickson of Bismark, MO; sisters, Billy Joe Houtz, and Bobby Joe Simpson; sister-in-law, Cheryl Simpson; and brother-in-law, Daniel Payne. Also mourning his passing are a multitude of other family members and special friends. Ross was preceded in death by his parents: Russ Derickson; brother, Barry Simpson; sisters, Angela Daughtery and Scelina Payne; and son, Brandon Harris. Visitation will be in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Monday evening, October 4, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Oak Grove Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor John Payne officiating.
