Obituary of Glenn Lilburn Mobley

Glenn Lilburn Mobley, 73, departed this life Friday, September 24, 2021 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. He was born July 26, 1948 in Doniphan to the late James Elvis and Bethel (Dobbs) Mobley.
Glenn was a carpet installer and had served this area for many years with his business, Mobley’s Rugland. With his positive outlook on life, Glenn had a smile that lit up his face. He always had a joke or story to share. Glenn enjoyed spending time on Current River and passed on this love to his children and grandchildren. He took pleasure in spending time outdoors with his favorite activities including being in the woods, camping, and deer hunting. He found joy in wood crafting and raising chickens. Glenn had served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He attended the First Church of God in Doniphan.
Surviving are his daughters, Casey (Matthew) Geyer of Dublin, GA and Alicia (Jeremy) Strubinger of Poplar Bluff, MO; his life partner, Mary Morelan; bonus daughters, Heather (Joe) Joiner and Jamie (Donny) Young, all of Doniphan; sisters, Elva Braschler of Murfreesboro, TN; Helen (Wayne) Bell of Avandal, VA, and Jane (Wendell) Holland of Flintstone, GA; and his brothers, Jim (Shari) Mobley of Lake Jackson, TX, Larry (Che Che) Mobley of Sarasota, FL, Dick Mobley of Doniphan, and Ed (Jane) Mobley, also of Doniphan. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Katie Sisco, Jon Joiner, Austin Joiner, Mallory Young, Daxton Young, McClay Young, J. D. Young, Alden Geyer, Auburn Geyer, Ava Geyer, Paisley Strubinger, and James Strubinger. Glenn also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his brothers, Lavell, Don, Bill, and Jack Mobley.
Visitation will be Friday, October 1, 2021 at the First Church of God in Doniphan beginning at 10:00 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Larry Mobley and Larry Bashaw will be officiating. Full military honors will be at the church at noon.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Glenn’s honor.
