Obituary of Joan Lynette Davis

Joan Lynette (Leibrock) Davis was born on October 9, 1934 in Erie, PA to the late Louis and Florence Leibrock and departed this life Wednesday, July 21, 2021. She was 86. After graduating high school, she enlisted in the United States Navy. It was while in the Navy she met her future husband, William M. Davis. They were united in marriage on July 1, 1955 in Astoria, Oregon. He preceded her in death on September 16, 1988. Two children were born of this marriage, Cheryl (Michael) O’Brien of Farmington, MO and William “Pete” (Debbie) Davis of Doniphan. Joan was a member of Logan Creek General Baptist Church and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, playing games, attending church, was an avid bowler, and in her later years, enjoyed watching TV. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents and her husband, Joan was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Michael. Surviving are her children; a sister, Jean Hebert of California; and her grandchildren, William (Shannon) Davis, Douglas (Pam) Davis, and Michael (Rachel) O’Brien. In addition, she is survived by great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Emilee, Kenzee, Aubree, Taylor, and Tara Davis, and other relatives. Visitation will be at Edwards Funeral Home on Monday, July 26, 2021 beginning at noon with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Curtis Crowley will be officiating. Burial will be in Elizabeth Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elizabeth Cemetery or one’s favorite charity in Joan’s honor.
