Obituary of Beverly Jean Slayton

Beverly Jean Slayton, 79-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Sunday, May 30, 2021. She was born February 26, 1942 in Granite City, IL to the late Ronald and Sylvia (Setzer) Mattison. Beverly was of the Jehovah Witness faith. She was interested in alternative medicines.
On October 29, 1966, Beverly married Robert Slayton in Granite City, IL. They had celebrated 54 years of marriage. He survives. Also surviving is one daughter, Rebecca (Jon) Smith of Moyock, NC; her sister, Helen Mansfield of Granite City, IL; two grandsons, Jonathan Allan Smith and Nathanial Alaxander (Stephanie) Michalak-Smith; and one great-grandchild, Phoenix Michalak-Smith.
In addition to her parents, Beverly was also preceded in death by two sisters, Cora Ida McCollough and Shirley Schmidt.
Visitation will be at Edwards Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2021. The funeral services will follow at 4:00.
