Obituary of Wanda Reeves

Wanda Mae Reeves, 90, of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Monday, February 15, 2021.She was born May 10, 1930 in Doniphan to the late Odis and Ethel Jarrett. The lovely former DHS Homecoming Queen graduated in 1948 and shortly afterwards on August 7, 1948, married her high-school sweetheart, John Reeves, in Pocahontas, AR. After their marriage, they lived in the St. Louis area for many years before returning to Doniphan. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Mrs. Reeves was a retired bookkeeper/clerk. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, and boating. She also enjoyed babysitting all four of her great-grandchildren. Mrs. Reeves is survived by her loving husband, John, and one daughter, Susan Killian of St. Louis, MO. Also surviving are three granddaughters, Amy Holland and Jill Holland of Doniphan and Adrienne (Melody) Killian of Mesa, AZ; one great-grandson, Taylor (Sydnee) Holland of Doniphan; three great-granddaughters, Macy, Mia, and Harper Baugh of Doniphan; and one great-great-grandson, Owen Holland, also of Doniphan. A brother, Jerry Jarrett, of Doniphan survives as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mrs. Reeves was preceded in death by her parents, Odis and Ethel Jarret, a daughter, Linda Holland, and a sister, Vergie Emmons. Visitation will be at Edwards Funeral Home on Monday, February 22, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. Burial will follow in Elizabeth Cemetery.
