Obituary of Iris Faye Jordan

Iris Faye Jordan, 94, departed this life Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Evelyn’s House in Creve Coeur, MO. She was born September 13, 1926 in Doniphan, MO to the late James Franklin and Mary Etta (Aldridge) Shelby. Iris was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, quilting, and crocheting. She delighted in making delicious baked goods, especially her cinnamon rolls and cookies. She catered to each person, making their favorite cookie and packaging them especially for them. Iris was an avid animal lover and liked to birdwatch. She was of the Church of Christ faith. On December 22, 1949, Iris married Russell Jordan in Pocahontas, AR. He preceded her in death. Also preceding Iris in death are her sisters, Mary Branson, Maybelle Martin, Maxine Shirley, Lexie Stell, and Lavern Pritchard; her brothers, Boyd Shelby and Guy Shelby; and a grandson, James. Surviving are her children, William Bruce Jordan, Bryan S. Jordan, Norma Jordan-Warner, Judy L. Roberts, Keith Jordan, and Joyce A. Bajier; two sisters, Bonnie Montgomery and Mescal West; grandchildren, Jennifer, Melissa, Scott, Matthew, Elizabeth, Beth, Ann, Jaclyn, Bryan, Steven, Justin, Ashley, Jarrad, and Samantha; and her great-grandchildren, Jack, Freya, Pepper, Ellison, Ryan, Katelyn, Victoria, Addison, Clayton, Jackson, Layton, Luke, Mia, McKinley, Emma, Paisley, Nolan, Hannah, Izayah, Ayanna, and a baby boy due July, 2021. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Edwards Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Pope Chapel near Current View.
