Obituary of Glenda Louise Smothers Brittain

Glenda Louise Smothers Brittain, 71, of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. She was born July 15, 1949 in Poplar Bluff, MO to the late Marvin Hood and Margaret Turner Hood.
Glenda had retired from the postal service and was gifted in artistry, especially in painting, drawing, home decorating, and preserving memories through scrapbooking. She also enjoyed being out in nature and had attended Rombaeur Baptist Church.
Surviving are four sisters, Renda Davis of Advance, MO, Tammy Marler of Poplar Bluff, MO, Kim Hood Swofford of AR, and Linda Hanley of Wappapello, MO; two brothers, Scotty Smothers of Puxico, MO and William Hood of Asherville, MO; two grandsons, Jeremiah and Caleb Brittain; and two great-grandchildren, Conner and Kynnlee Brittain.
In addition to her parents, Glenda was preceded in death by one son, Brian Brittain; brothers, Roy Lee Hood and Buel Hood; and grandson Zach Brittain.
Visitation will be at 12:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2021 at Edwards Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Browns Chapel Cemetery.
