Lamayone C. Foster, 92, departed this life Sunday, September 20, 2020 at his residence in Mayflower, AR. He was born September 2, 1928 in Casa, AR to the late Cecil C. and Ruth Ann (Douglas) Foster. Lamayone had worked as a sheet metal worker with McDonald Aircraft and was a WWII veteran serving in the United States Navy. He enjoyed fishing, carpentry, and gardening and was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan. Lamayone was a member of Doniphan First Baptist Church and had served as a deacon. On May 21, 1949, Lamayone married Melvagene Johnson in Paragould, AR. She preceded him in death. Surviving are his children, Ronald (Mary) Foster of Savannah, TN, Brenda (Paul) Carroll of Martinez, GA, Rick (Julie) Foster of Rossville, IN, Sheila (Fred) Holst of Mayflower, AR, and Cindy (Eddie) Hill also of Mayflower, AR; his sisters, Geneva (Danny) Hudson of Mayflower, AR, and Jewell Dean Alvey of Amarillo, TX; sister-in-law, Judy (Ron) Britt; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Rosemary) Johnson; and 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Lamayone was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Smith, and his three brothers, Wayne Foster, Bob Foster, and Curtis Foster. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 22, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Edward’s Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Doniphan First Baptist Church with Reverend Wade Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens in Poplar Bluff, MO.
