Obituary of Linden Gerald Kane

Linden Gerald Kane, 74-year-old-resident of Doniphan, MO departed this life Monday, July 15, 2019 in Doniphan.  Linden was born August 27, 1944 in Doniphan to the late Earl and Lora (Hayes) Kane. He was the youngest of 12 children.

Linden was an Accountant for the CPA firm Benson, Lamear, and McCormick for over 10 years and then worked for Apex Oil until he retired.  He was a 1962 graduate of Doniphan High School.  He earned his degree in Accounting from Southwest Missouri State. He proudly served in the US Army, 1968-1969, during the Vietnam War receiving the Vietnam Service Medal with 3 bronze stars; National Defense Service Medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; and Combat Infantryman Badge.

On May 1, 1971, in Doniphan, MO he was married to Janis Henderson, who survives.  Also surviving are brothers Ken Kane of West Plains, MO and Lawrence Kane of Yoncalla, OR and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Kane enjoyed deer and elk hunting, fishing, and spending time on Current River with family, friends, and neighbors.  Linden was an avid sports fan following the St. Louis Cardinals, DHS sports, and the Three Rivers Raiders. He was a member of the Baptist Church and a member of the Doniphan VFW Post 3485.

In addition to his parents Linden was preceded in death by sisters Bashie Williams, Verna Holland, Irene Davis, Silvia Albanesi; and brothers Robert, Willard, Willis, Warren, and Paul Kane.

Funeral services for Mr. Linden Kane will be held Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.  Visitation will begin at Noon on Saturday, prior to the service.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Doniphan Cemetery. Serving as Pall Bearers are:  Matthew Holland, Howard Holland, Lyndal Williams, Al Davis, Dan Davis, and Shaun Bass.

The family requests memorials be made to the Doniphan VFW Post 3485 or the DAV (Disabled American Veterans).
