Obituary of Eileen Melton

Roberta Eileen Melton, 84 year old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Friday, December 28, 2018 in Doniphan, MO.  Eileen was born April 16, 1934, in Rochester, IN to the late Robert and Gladys Reddinger Thomas.  Eileen was an internationally known wildlife and nature artist, whose art was exhibited worldwide.  Many people cherish owning her prints.  She also loved her flower garden.  Eileen was a member of the First Christian Church in Doniphan.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gerald Thomas “Jerry” Melton, Jr.; one grandson; two sisters; and one brother.

 

On August 10, 1952, in Rochester, IN she was married to Gerald Thomas “Tom” Melton, Sr., who survives.  Also surviving are daughters, Jaren Lee Melton of Jackson, MO; Janice Melton White of Doniphan, MO; Cathy Melton Kidd of Bend, OR; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Eileen Melton will be held, Friday, January 4, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Harwell officiating.  Visiting will be held Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 5-8 PM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO, on Friday, January 4, 2019, at 1:00:p.m.
