Obituary of Maxie Laverne Sparks

 

 

Maxie Laverne Sparks, 83, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Southeast Health of Ripley County in Doniphan.

Mrs. Sparks, daughter of Percy L. and Annie Bell (Ryan) Shelton, was born May 14, 1934, in Dell, Arkansas.  She had been a factory worker at Basler Electric in St. Louis.  Maxie enjoyed collecting ducks, cleaning house and she loved to shop.  She was a member of the Success Baptist Church in Success, Arkansas.

On July 16, 1966, she was married to William Sparks at Shawneetown, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on October 6, 2017. 

She was also preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters; Bonnie Muegge, Linda Shelton and Lana Shelton; and 1 brother, Percy Shelton.

Surviving are 4 sons:  Ricky (and Mary) Hudson of Villa Ridge, Missouri, Ronnie Hudson and Jeffery Hudson, both of New Haven, Missouri, and Greg Sparks of Farmington, Missouri; 1 brother, Everett (and Diane) Shelton of Success, Arkansas; and 8 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 26, 2018, at the Hitt Cemetery in Success, Arkansas.
