Obituary of Wanda L. Clements

Please share a memory of Wanda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Wanda L. Clements, 88, of Doniphan, died October 25, 2017, at her home after a long struggle with dementia.

Wanda was born in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, to the late Charles and Hazel (Martin) Hamilton on July 26, 1929.

On March 3, 1945, she married Lloyd E. Clements in Ravenden, Arkansas.  She was a stay at home mom and her children and grandchildren were blessed for her presence in their lives.  She was unceasing in her care of the home and in her fierce determination that we would succeed in our educational endeavors.

She had an amazingly wry sense of humor, was a wonderful cook, loved potted plants and her Bantam chickens and was the unofficial nurse and sitter for the family, extended family and neighborhood.  She attended Victory Christian Fellowship Church of God in Fairdealing, Missouri.

She is survived by three daughters:  Dorris (Scott) Young of Iola, Kansas; Anita Jones of Carthage, Missouri; and Karen (Wayne) Allen of the home.  Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both of her brothers, 2 children, 1 grandchild, 2 great-grandchildren and her husband of 63 years.

Visitation for Mrs. Clements will be Friday November 3, 2017, from 5-7 PM at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan.  Funeral services will be Saturday, November 4, 2017, 2:00 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home chapel with Bishop Matthew Brooks officiating.  Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Dementia may have stolen us from your memories, but we will remember for you.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Legacy Hospice in Poplar Bluff or your local Alzheimer’s/Dementia organization.
