Obituary of Nevada Evelyn Neal

Nevada Evelyn Neal, 87, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Mrs. Neal was born December 12, 1929, in Cheatham County, Tennessee.  She had worked at Bussman Fuse in the printing department.  Mrs. Neal was a member of the Fairview General Baptist Church and enjoyed attending church and especially liked gospel music.  Her special joy was being with her grandchildren. 

On October 11, 1947, she was married to James R. Neal at Piggott, Arkansas, and he survives.

Also surviving are 4 children:  Linda Kay Smith and Stephanie (and Dale) Epstein, both of Doniphan; James Elroyce (and Debbie) Neal of Bloomfield, Missouri; and Lonnie Joe (and Patty) Neal of Van Buren, Missouri; 3 sisters, Helen Reece of Doniphan and Wanda Beasley of Bernie, Missouri, Charlsie Snyder of Campbell, MO; 1 brother, Jerry Orick of Doniphan; grandchildren, Amy Manning, Jamie Neal, Mandy Mooney, Jason Neal, Brandon Neal, Austin Neal, Cody Neal, Josh White, Hannah Epstein, Zack Epstein, Tyler Struyk, Larry Struyk and Alleesha Gloyd; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Julia Hill, Kathryn Tolbert, Lorene Bolin and Jane Snyder; and 2 brothers, Vernon Orick and Tom Orick.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning, September 14, 2017, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan.  The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brothers Hubert Payne and Donnie Sanford officiating.  Burial will be in the Bernie Cemetery in Bernie, Missouri.
