Obituary of Mackie "Eddie" Bourbon

Mackie Eugene “Eddie” Bourbon, 62, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, departed this life Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at his residence. Mr. Bourbon, son of Percy and Virginia (Joplin) Bourbon, was born August 19, 1954, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was employed in the construction industry. Mr. Bourbon enjoyed hunting and fishing, building things, barbecueing and drinking beer with family and friends. He made a life of providing and being there for his wife and boys. Mr. Bourbon was of the Baptist faith. On September 3, 1972, he was married to Charlotte Diane Elder and she survives. They enjoyed 45 years of marriage together. Also surviving are 3 children: Jimmy Eugene Bourbon, Paul Edward Bourbon and Mackie Ray Bourbon, all of Poplar Bluff; 1 sister, Pauline Smith of Doniphan, Missouri; 4 brothers, Vic Miller of Poplar Bluff, John Hancock of Ripley, Tennessee, Paul Crook of Black, Missouri, and Ray Crook of St. Louis; 8 grandchildren, Ceara, Eddie, Kyhleah, McKenna, Chase, Jessee, Mary and James; and 8 great-grandchildren, Addy, Gavin, David, Kale, Gabe, Dominic, Wyatt, and Memphis. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Rance Bourbon. Visitation will be held Friday evening, February 24, 2017, from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will take place Saturday afternoon, February 25, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Tim Tipton officiating. Burial will be in the Good Hope Cemetery.
