Alfred Ray Brooks, 80, of Arnold, Missouri, died Sunday, February 5, 2017, at his residence.
Mr. Brooks, son of Alfred and Mary Louise (Wood) Brooks, was born April 7, 1936, in Ripley County, Missouri. He was an employee of St. Louis City Metropolitan Sewer District. Mr. Brooks was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served his country during the Korean War. He was a member of Macedonia Church and the Masonic Lodge in Grandin, Missouri. Mr. Brooks was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing and gardening.
On September 17, 1989, he was married to Anita Keenan in Ripley County, Missouri, and she survives.
Also surviving are 2 children: Angela Rae (and Wayne) Charters of Lebanon, Illinois, and Dawn Renee’ Brooks of Arnold; 1 brother, Robert Lee Brooks of Cabot, Arkansas; and 5 grandchildren, Dominique Channtell and William Ray, Brittany Nicole Moore, Emily Rae and Logan Michael Wallace.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 daughter, Cindi Ann Brooks.
Visitation for Mr. Brooks will begin at noon Friday, February 10, 2017, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Tim Evans officiating. Burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery.
