Obituary of Anita Louise Sisco

Anita Louise Waughn Sisco passed away at her home on Sunday, January 15, 2017. Mrs. Sisco was born June 2, 1934, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Preston & Ruth (Maynard) Waughn. On October 9, 1952, in Doniphan, she married Charles Fred “Bud” Sisco. Her memory will be cherished by her loving husband and their five children: Mike Sisco, Gatewood; Roxanne (Freddie) Leroux, Doniphan; Kathy (Patrick) Wyatt, Fairdealing; Ricky (Missy) Sisco, and Ruthie Wiggins, both of Doniphan. Her legacy also includes 13 grandchildren: Chris, April, Charlie, Travis, Samantha, Kirsten, B.J., Briana, Sara, Jake, Amy, Hannah, and Ashton and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Barbara, and her son Raymond Sisco. Taking care of her family was Anita’s greatest joy. Known for her homemade brandy and bread, canning, sewing, and quilting were also her specialties. Anita believed in helping others whenever possible and practiced that belief with grace and a generous heart. No one left her home with an empty stomach or empty hands. Her generosity and selflessness extended to the community with her work as a Ponder Booster Club member. Services to celebrate her well-lived life will be held Friday, January 20, at Edwards Funeral Home, Doniphan, Missouri. Visitation will be begin at 11 a.m. with the service following at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Union Cemetery. Brother Randy Conn will be officiating.
