Obituary of Teddy Ray Whitlow

Teddy Ray “Ted” Whitlow, 79, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, departed this life Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at his residence. Mr. Whitlow, son of the late Cloyce William and Della Mae (Noe) Whitlow, was born June 21, 1937, in Dearborn, Michigan. Prior to his retirement, he had been a supervisor at McDonnell-Douglas. Mr. Whitlow enjoyed woodworking and he loved to fish. He also appreciated music and was an excellent musician, possessing a special talent for playing many instruments. Mr. Whitlow was a member of the Fellowship Southern Baptist Church in Harviell, Missouri. He was married to Marilyn Joyce Whitlow for 35 years and she preceded him in death in 2009. He was also preceded in death by one son Joseph D. Whitlow on August 30, 2010; one sister, Virginia Cannon; one brother, Billy Don Whitlow; and one grandchild, Michael Townsend. Surviving are one son, Kevin (and Tina) Whitlow of Doniphan, Missouri; two daughters, Karen Sue (Wayne) Burgin of Garwood, Missouri, and Carol Jean Mills of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Elvira Jane Whitlow of Poplar Bluff and Betty June Whitlow of Ellsinore, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Vicki Lawrence, Christina Richie, Sheila Harvey, Cassie Weir, Kevin Daniel Whitlow, Michael Eugene Cates, Aaron Lee Mills, Shirley Mae Black, Autumn Skyla Whitlow, Andrea; and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2017, in the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Monty Flanigan officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
