Medford Darnell
Medford passed peacefully at home the morning of September 3, 2016. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family the last days of his life.
He was the Dearest son of the late Medford F. and Ollie Darnell, Beloved husband of Shirley Darnell (nee Russell) for over 61 years, Loving father to Medford (Sally), Joseph (Cindy), Michael Darnell, Susan (Lance) Dent and Cynthia (the late Cary) Wamser. Cherished Grandfather to 13, Great Grandfather, Uncle and Friend to many. He was a St. Louis Firefighter for over 23 years and beloved Doorman at the Chase. He served in Korea and will be buried with full military honors.
His love of life will forever be cherished by his family and friends. He lived every day to its fullest and never knew a stranger. He loved good food, good music and good company.
One of his favorite songs was Unforgettable and one of his favorite words from the bible was lovingkindness. Psalms 103:4 KJV Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies.
