Sylvia Marie Shelton, 92, of Doniphan, died Saturday, March 6, 2007, at the Ripley County Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Shelton was born December 20, 1914, in Paragould, Arkansas. She was a cook with Doniphan Schools. On January 4, 1930, she was married to Tom Shelton in Craighead County, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1976.
Survivors include one daughter-in-law Ann Shelton of Doniphan, one granddaughter, Gail (and Wayne) Faries of Doniphan; three great-granddaughters, Autumn (and Rick) Plunk, Heather Faries and Shawna Tettleton and two great-grandsons, Alex Tettleton and Landon Plunk, all of Doniphan; three brothers Jim (and Helen) Parham of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Tommy Parham of Orange, California, and John (and Pearl) Parham of Imperial, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by one son, Floyd Shelton; her parents, Walter Parham and Della Coggins Parham; two brothers Bob Parham and Charlie Parham; and one grandchild, Linda Shelton.
Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2007, at Edwards Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Harold Tackett officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
