Connie Roy Dale, 70, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Friday, July 27, 2012, at his residence.

Mr. Dale, son of Rector Allen and Emma May (Rackley) Dale, was born May 11, 1942, in Oregon County, Missouri. He was a life-long resident of Ripley County. Mr. Dale was a truck and bus driver and was a member of the Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing with Charles, hunting, reading, working crossword puzzles, gardening, watching Gunsmoke and playing with his great-grandchildren. He also liked to swim with his friend, Rick, in the Blue Hole.

On December 11, 1962, he was married to Sandra Silkwood in Bardley, Missouri. She preceded him in death on December 18, 1979.

Surviving are two daughters; Karen Williams (and Dennis) of Bardley and Kim Johnson of Pine, Missouri; two sons, Keith Dale of DeSoto, Missouri and Rick Dale (and Cretia) of Doniphan; one sister, Viola Marley of Doniphan; two brothers, Willard Dale (and Carol) and Bob Dale (and Misty), both of Doniphan; seven grandchildren, Benjamin Dale, Jamie Dale and Kassandra Dale, all of DeSoto, and Nick Williams (and Jerri), Natalie Bland (and Steven), Noah Williams, and Cecily Dale, all of Bardley; two great-grandchildren, Hattie Mae Williams and Emma Olivia Bland; a daughter-in-law, Donna Dale of Doniphan; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, Kevin Dale, one sister, Wanda Dale Miller and one brother, Cecil Dale.

Visitation for Mr. Dale will be Saturday evening, July 28, 2012, from 5 – 8 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will take place Sunday afternoon, July 29, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Wayne Lunyou officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery.
