Jewel Martin Wilson, 88 year old daughter of the late Frank and Allie Mims Martin, died Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Heritage Nursing Home in Kennett, MO. Mrs. Wilson was born September 11, 1923 in Holcomb, MO. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening both vegetables and flowers, cooking, and canning. She was a member of the Pilgrim’s Rest Church in Fairdealing, MO.
She was married to James Wilson in November 1949, in Pocahontas, AR, and he preceded her in death in 1981. She was also preceded in death by two children, Richard and Terry Wilson; two brothers, Glen and Roy Martin; and one sister Fern Ward.
She is survived by children, Doris Mills of Morehouse, MO; Alvin Hambrick of Ft. Wayne, IN; David Hambrick of Marietta, GA; Jimmy Wilson of Marmaduke, AR; and Mary Turner of Hornersville, MO; sisters, Esther Bates of Desloge, MO; and Mary Bryant of Bertrand, MO; brothers, Wayne Martin of Tulsa, OK; and Jerry Martin of Fairdealing; she is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wilson will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, July 23, 2012 in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marvin Richards and Rev. Ronnie Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the Center Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Monday morning.
